Tranmere story

David John Burgess is an English former full-back from Liverpool. He began his senior career with Tranmere Rovers in 1981 and moved to Grimsby Town in 1986.

Burgess subsequently played for Blackpool and Carlisle United, with loan spells at Carlisle and Hartlepool United, before finishing his playing career in non-league football with Northwich Victoria and Bamber Bridge.
